A group of pupils from Year 5 and 6 competed in the Bexley basketball tournament earlier this week with resounding success...

On Tuesday 4th February, Mr McGregor our PE Lead accompanied 6 of our KS2 pupils to take part in a borough organised basketball tournament and they were triumphant in their efforts; winning their heat and securing a place in the final!  Well done to the pupils involved.  They demonstrated many of the school values and worked effortlessly as a team leading to their success.  A parent in attendance had this to say about the pupils and the event:

"As a parent, I would like to show my appreciation and say “Thank You” for organising Basketball tournament.  It was a pleasure to see a group of learners who were from different classes/ years/mixed genders, one new student- all might be unknown to each other but play so well as a team without any experience or coaching.  Most students experience was bouncing ball during lunch time without knowing any rules of the game. Despite this knock back and having tough (slightly aggressive referee), Belmont students were determined to achieve one goal and supported as well as encouraged each other which was simply amazing to watch. This shows that you can achieve anything if you have positive mindset.  Well done to Belmont learners and Thank you to Mr. McGregor for accompanying them."

We wish the team the best of luck in the final which takes place on 27th February...
