Year 6

Welcome to Year 6. Our classes are:

Ivory Coast Class - Mr. Lynch

Cameroon Class - Mrs Johnson

Autumn Term 2

Autumn term 2 has been a busy term for Year 6.  In IPC, they have been studying 'Extreme Survivors' and this involved studying how animals are able to surive in extreme conditions and how their habitats alter to the environment.  They began the topic by creating replicas of different extreme habitats into trioramas (pictured below).  More recently, they have begun to understand how micro-organisms and microbes are able to survive in all conditions and habitats.  This involved an experiment involving the growth of mould in different circumstances.

In English, the children have been studying Williams Shakespeare's Macbeth.  Following the story of the Thane of Glamis, they have studied the character, writing narratives, diaries and letters.

In Maths, the children have continued to study the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  This is now moved towards the study of fractions, involving these four operations adn the simplification and equivalence of them.
