At Belmont, we follow the International Primary Curriculum. This is a rich, comprehensive curriculum with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject, for personal learning and international mindedness.

Each half term, our pupils learn through a cross-curricular topic based approach. Wherever possible, teachers make links between learning in core subects (Literacy and Maths) and the IPC topic.

Each topic starts with a Knowledge Harvest where the pupils share everything they know about the topic and pose questions they want to be answered through their learning. This helps the teachers to plan engaging, well-paced lessons.

Every topic starts with an Inspiration Day where the classes are immersed in their new topic and inspired to want to learn more.

Parents are encouraged to look at our topic Map (route planner) and support their children with home learning on the topics being covered this year.
