Colombia Class - Miss Magalhaes

Autumn Term 2

This half term has been extremely busy for Year 3.  In maths, they have been learning their 3 and 4 multiplication facts.  They have used arrays and the bar model to show their understanding and this has sparked a 'battle of the bands' between the two classes on TT Rockstars.

In literacy, the children have been writing letters to convince the computers to come back as they had quit on the children.  This idea was inspired by the text 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Drew Daywalt.  A story about a set of crayons who refuse to be used by a child.  The children are currently writing poetry inspirted by the film 'Happy Feet'.

In IPC, the children have been looking at their diet and what makes a healthy meal.  Year 3 needed a lot of energy to ensure that they coul dmake their own healthy flapjacks on inspiration day!  This led the children onto their science learning which including labelling the human skeleton and the key bones of the body.

The children also enjoyed raising money for Children in Need which saw the year group have quite a few entries into the talent show.  The children are now busy rehearsing for their upcoming Christmas performance.
