Monty’s first term at Belmont
I have had a very exciting first term at Belmont and have participated in lots of different new adventures. When I first joint Belmont in September I was only 10 weeks old and was only allowed in the school office. Whilst I was in the school office I learnt how the ladies worked really hard and was lucky enough to learn lots of new skills especially the correct place to go to the toilet!
I have now settled into school life and I am enjoying the routine of attending school every day. I am getting a little bigger have had all of my vaccinations and am now allowed to be around the children more.
I have completed my first training session with the ‘Dog Mentorship’ programme and have started to learn new tricks. I am able to sit, twirl and lay down. I also love doing this as I get to eat lots of treats and it is always nice to be rewarded and praised. I now have my own special dog mentor orange coat and lead. My coat even has my name printed on it.
I have enjoyed greeting you all on the gate and will continue to do this next term. I have been attending lunch club and assemblies. I watched the children play their games and enjoyed meeting them. I have been familiarising myself with the school surroundings and spend a lot of time walking around school, going onto the field to get used to the smells and the noise.
After half-term, I hope to be visiting the classrooms and seeing what the children are learning. I might even learn some new things. Woof! Woof!
