Belmont Values

We have adopted the Olympic Values as those which we wish to inform the choices we make about how we conduct ourselves. We understand values are 'a way of being'. These values are:

  • Determination
  • Equality
  • Inspiration
  • Respect
  • Courage
  • Excellence
  • Friendship

Our pupils are taught about these values in weekly acts of collective worship and through the curriculum.

Belmont Learning Goals

The IPC Personal Goals underpin those individual qualities and learning dispositions we believe children will find essential in the 21st century.

Opportunities to experience and practice these are built into the learning tasks within each unit of work. They are then referenced at the end of every task to signpost opportunities for teachers to further develop them. There are eight IPC Personal Goals:

  • Enquiry
  • Resilience
  • Morality
  • Communication
  • Thoughtfulness
  • Co-operation
  • Respect
  • Adaptability

Teachers weave the learning goals into all of their lessons and help children to reflect on what might be essential to allow them to be successful. These are also taught in our weekly acts of collective worship.
